First things first, Happy New Year to all! Tribe or not, I wish you all the bestest, maximum health and a total absence of whatever wasn’t right in the years before this one! May it be the most successful, most productive, most satisfying, craziest, funnest, most extraordinary year ever‼

Or at least a couple of hundred percents better than the best year we’ve had so far ;)

Haven’t posted —nor written— anything in quite a while, I’m a bit rusty at this, but let’s see if I can get my shit together for long enough to reach the “publish” button ;)

Second things second, the reason for the delay in putting something up here —apart from the aforementioned [awesome excuse]— is that, for a change, this year I’m not gonna get back to work as soon as I used to. I’m prolonging the new year’s holiday by a couple more weeks, partly because I’m finally trying to take the “dude, you need to slow down!”s more seriously and partly because 2011 has been so —how can I put it?— shitty that I really need to do something crazier and funner than usual, to wash off all the fuck-ups I’ve been through. And to get some tan :)

I’m aching to ink something so, the truth is, I’ll actually be doing a couple of tattoos on the 6th and the 7th of this month. After that, I’ll be closing the studio again and go south for a while, swim a little, get sunburnt, have a year’s worth of cocktails and do whatever crazy shit comes my way… But, about this, a little later, in a separate entry ;)

Third things third (this is getting a little old, ain’t it?), this year I’m planning —or, at least, thinking about planning— to dust the pencils and notebooks and draw a little more; a lot more, actually. There’s inspiration and there’s urge, got them both and I need to bring them out on paper, so all I need to do is make more time for it. A little less time for tattooing, maybe a little less time for distraction —here’s one contradiction already— but it’s gonna be worth it; there’s a lot of stuff I want to draw and show, lack of time to do it would be the lamest excuse. But all this after I get back to Tōkyō, after I reopen the studio and after I realize the holiday’s over :) I’m gonna write about this too, a little later.

’Ai La Mulți Ani ș-Un An Nou Fericit la toți derbedeii și zânele, multă sănătate și baftă maximă! Un cântec, un pa’ar dă vin roșu, un fum gros ș-o urare de numai bine pentru 2012!

Mă străduiesc să mențin un ton săltăreț, așa că o să trec doar în fugă peste cât de căcat —cu mici excepții— a fost 2011 și cât de mult mă bucur că s-a dus, ș-o să trec rapid la 2012.

2012, care sper din toată inima să fie un an bun —cel mai bun, dacă se poate— plin numai de satisfacții, succese și nebunii și lipsit total de orice a fost rău în anii trecuți‥! Sănătate de fier, bani să dea pe dinafară, artă și femei. Sau, mă rog, bărbați ;)

De data asta nu-ncep munca imediat; prelungesc vacanța cu-ncă vreo două săptămâni și ceva ș-o-ntind în sud, la mare, soare, coctailuri cu umbreluțe și haleală iute :)

Redeschid studioul abia pe 22 Ianuarie și —de-atunci încolo— program normal. OK, mai puțină muncă și mai multă distracție ca pân-acum, că toată lumea-mi zice s-o iau mai încet :)

Mai pomenesc eu despre vacanța asta înc-o dată înainte să plec din Tōkyō —cândva până-n 9 Ianuarie— dar, pân-atunci, înc-o dată La Mulți Ani, Un An Nou Fericit și toate cele mai cele mai cele mai bune!

Vă pupă nenea ;)

Plouă cu spume și cică mai vine și taifunul… nu prea știe Japonia asta cum să-mi ureze „bun venit înapoi”, mai ales că-n București am avut o vreme atât de bestială.

Am stat un pic cu morcovul la cur din cauza norului de cenușă de la Grímsvötn —nemții și englejii anulaseră majoritatea zborurilor în dimineața aia— dar am avut noroc și zborul meu n-a fost afectat, așa c-am reușit s-ajung înapoi cum plănuisem, pe 26 dimineața.

Am redeschis studioul pe 28 și toate-s la loc cum erau; s-a dus și jet lag-ul, a venit înapoi și cheful de muncă, totul e OK ;)

Mor de ciudă că n-am luat camera cu mine; aș fi avut ocazia să fac niște poze barosane p-acolo… Ce-am reușit să fac cu mobilul e de caca, nu-i de pus pe site… așa că rabd pân-la anul :)

Nu prea am cine știe ce povești interesante de data asta; vroiam doar să anunț rapid că sunt înapoi și am revenit la program normal, că dup-aia mi se face lene și iar nu mai scriu nimic cu lunile :)

Luckily, the ash cloud from Grímsvötn hadn’t reached Schiphol by the time my flight was scheduled —although Germans chickened out and grounded all flights that morning— so I was able to return to Tōkyō as planned and resume work on the 28^th. As scheduled :)

It was a nice —short, but good— holiday; I tanned a bit, I drunk a lot, a ate a lot and I slept a lot. Wasn’t able to meet everyone I wanted to, but at least I managed to spend enough time with my family… and it was good.

And yes, to my surprise, I went through the customs at the Romanian airport without any annoyances!

Wasn’t so lucky at Narita though; the little piece of shit on duty went through my luggage, looked in my shoes and frisked me because, you know, a 2-hour stop in Amsterdam…

Anyway, that being said, now I really regret not taking the camera with me‥! I had plenty of opportunities to take some good pictures and I ended up ruining them because of the shitty lens on my mobile phone… Next time I’ll leave the laziness home and take the camera instead :)

So I’m back to work and everything is fine. Except for the fucking weather…

Am terminat treaba, am închis studioul, mi-am făcut bagajele; mai am vreo câteva mail-uri de scris, un back-up barosan de făcut și gata, trag pe dreapta că mâine o iau din loc devreme.

Nu știu dacă mai reușesc sǎ intru pe fir din Schiphol —depinde dacă am conecție la internet în zona de fumat și de băut bere— așa că, cel mai sigur, dau de veste când ajung în București. După ce scap de atârneii de la vamă cu scotocitul lor prin bagaje și —cică— cu contoarele lor Geiger și, dup-aia, de cocalarii cu taxi-urile lor nașpa :)

Până una alta, sunt de găsit —ca de obicei— pe e-mail, pe Twitter și, la noroc, pe Skype.

Cum ziceam, n-o să-mi aduc sculele cu mine; m-am interesat, dar muile de la primărie mă trimiteau în altă parte —de unde pun pariu că m-ar fi trimis înapoi la primărie— și mi s-a făcut silă… Pân-la urm-am renunțat. Dacă mă sucesc, poate cumpăr un set de scule să-l am acolo, pentru când trag câte-o vizită, dar mai vedem…

Stau în București până pe 24 Mai, destul timp să ne găsim și să bem o bere-do’o… cu condiția să ne găsim ;)

I’ll return to Tōkyō on May 26^th but, in the meantime, I’ll be reachable —as usual— via e-mail, Twitter and, with a little luck, on Skype.

If they don’t charge too much for the shitty wi-fi at Schiphol, I’ll probably pop-in from there too before I change planes ;)

Here’s hoping this one is gonna be a really good year, all success and no failure, all health and no pain —OK, a little bit of pain, since I’m gonna keep tattooing ’til I go numb— and with none of the frustration and the anger we might’ve gone through in 2010.

Here’s hoping justice will prevail, freedom will survive, peace will come, governments will fall, religion will shut the fuck up and all the bad people will leave early.

New year resolution?

Keep doing what I’ve been doing, only with more passion and less fear of failure. Art is art and it’s gonna follow its path naturally, but I feel like I owe more, so here’s hoping I’ll muster the strength to give as much as I’ve been taking.

Might be, because what I was actually planning to say —before I got carried away— was that yup, the new year holiday is here, I’m done with work for this year, I’ll be closing the studio right after this and head for AnywhereICanGetADrinkWithoutTooMuchFuss, just around the corner of NurseINeedAFix. Or two. Or nine ;)

It’s been a… err… relatively good year but I hope the next one is gonna be A LOT better!
