Europe Trip • October 2009 (back number)
Long overdue —was supposed to do this a couple a months ago— but work kept piling up and spare time and surplus energy are raræ aves in this tribe’s hunting territories… So —I’ll spare you the blah-blah— here they are, 2 months late but freshly cropped, trimmed and what have you: a few photos taken in October, while visiting London and Paris.
Nothing out of the ordinary, but if you have a minute and nothing else to do right now, have a look :) Most of them speak for themselves so I’ll spare you the descriptions too :D
London
Hard Rock Café
The restaurant/café, surprisingly small (you’d think “London, shit yeah, the biggest branch in the world”) and crowded, but the staff is fantastic, really friendly and cool people. Food is good too —not much different from what you get in any other HRC around the world— so this was probably the best part of my visit there. If I could go without having to visit London in the process, I’d definitely go again‥!
Paris
Le Hard Rock Café
A lot bigger than the one in London —roughly similar to the one in Tōkyō but way smaller than the one in București— and deviating a little from the “traditional” looks but, once again, the staff makes up for whatever might be wrong with the building itself. Waiters singing along with whatever was on the TV, prompt service and all that. I’ll definitely go again!
Back to London
Piccadilly Circus
London Bridge
Tower Bridge
The Usual Suspects
Trafalgar Square
Five days of rainy, windy, grey coldness, flipping birds at any CCTV camera I could spot, trying all kinds of foods and beers, shopping and cursing the 2012 olympics (actually, the fucked up traffic jams caused by the construction works in preparation for the olympics)…
Then two days in Paris, where I’ll definitely go again (it was already my second time there). Romanian gipsies are a pest and it didn’t feel good to find them leeches there after I just had enough of them in București, but even so, Paris is a nice place. Good weather too :D
Then one more week in London; better weather this time, more bird flipping at the surveillance motherfuckers, more beer and plenty of walking around… All in all, not as bad as I imagined but I don’t think I’ll visit again. At least, not until they do something about that piece of shit airport they’ve got there in Heathrow :)
Still around? Thanks for reading!
Oh, and before I forget, fuck that scumbag Bono! Not that it has anything to do with my trip to Europe, but hey, off-topic is the new black and that piece of shit deserves a “fuck Bono” every 2–3 sentences written…
